WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE PHOTO SESSION?
We don’t try to make your pet be something they aren’t – we’ll have loads of fun in an environment that is safe and comfortable for them and we'll approach things with a good spirit and sense of humor and just see what unfolds. We'll aim tell your pet’s story-the true story that includes all the quirks, naughtiness, goofy habits, sweetness etc. We go with the flow. Pet sessions can be shot at a location of your choice to achieve a look more unique to you and your fury companion. Sessions last approximately forty minutes to an hour. [Travel charges do apply to locations more than 30 minutes from Fort St John] .
When styling a photo session, we recommend you start with a basic colour palette and then build on that. Think about what colour your dog or cat is and what colours would compliment them and the area where we’re doing our shoot.
Coordinate everyone’s outfits, and consider where we will be doing the shoot (Forest? That’s green – so pick colours that might stand out against green like rusts, reds, pastels…urban area like a coffee shop, or city streets? That’s more concrete and neutral, so you can play with a variety of bright colours.) Layers and textures look awesome (think hand knit items). Footwear can also be a lot of fun for girls – but please bring flats that you’ll be comfortable tromping around in a bit if you are planning on going “off road.” We advise you bring a little bag of extras – shoes, a sweater or accessory, dog toys and treats – (We are happy to carry this for you so it isn’t in your shots.)
At the end of the day it’s all about being you, being comfortable and having fun, so if you want to break the rules – go right ahead. (And if you’re still looking for ideas, go to Pinterest and type in “photoshoot wardrobe ideas” – you will have hours of fun on there.) And should you need a shirt made wrinkle free, stop in at Crooked Corner Clothing (9916 101 Ave Fort St John) before your shoot to have your shirts steamed free of charge.
HAIR AND MAKEUP
If you or your children will be included in the photo session we ask that you and/or they are groomed to your likeness before the shoot begins.
We choose a method of retouching to give you and your pet a naturalistic and flattering look that isn't overworked. Techniques in Adobe Photoshop, such as head replacement is applied in the editing process to ensure everybody looks their best.
